This website has been designed to provide new families with information about the Sunnybank Scout Group and how we operate. If you would like to join the movement or have any further questions please contact us.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We are run by volunteers, we ask all families to contribute as best as they can to support the running of our Scout Group. There are many ways you can help, including:

  • Become a Leader.
  • Assist as Adult Support.
  • Join the Group Committee.
  • Provide expertise or skills.
  • Lend equipment (such as a yacht) or facilities (such as a farm for camping) that can be utilised by the Group.
  • Organise publicity for events.
  • Come down and talk to a Section about your profession or hobby.
  • Provide an excursion to your place of employment eg factory or laboratory.
  • Help with hall maintenance.
  • Assist with Transport to and from events or tow a trailer.
  • Donate prizes for fundraising.

The Toohey Forest District Billy Cart Derby is held each year and is open to all Scout Groups in the region, and to all sections from Joey Scouts thru to Rovers.

Details
Venue: Park Cnr Skyline Ave and Percy Street at Tarragindi
Date: Sunday the 6 August 2017
Time: 8.30am-12.00
Safety Requirements: All billy carts will have to pass a safety check before their events and all drivers will need safety (bike) helmets (knee and elbow pads are optional). Sunnybank Scouts will bring a billy cart to share.
Refreshments: Will be available for purchase: burgers and sausage sizzle with hot and cold drinks.

Toilets: As there are no toilets at this park, the toilets at Tarragindi Den will be open at Newington Street for use if required. (2 minutes away by car.)

Schedule
Billy Cart inspection: 8.45am to 9.00 am
Parade: 9.00 am
Safety Induction: 9.05am to 9.15 am
Race Time: 9.15 am until 11.45am
Final parade: 11.55am
